Details of the 2010 Great Leprechaun Hunt

The Narberth scavenger hunts are a huge hit with local familes as well as the Narberth businesses.  These events bring families from the community into our local shops, giving business owners a chance to re-connect with loyal customers and start some new relationships, too.  For the kids it's all about the fun of the chase, the treats along the way, and the prize at the end.

This year's event is Saturday, March 20, from 1pm to 4pm.  The NBA booth at the corner of Haverford and Forrest Ave is the starting point, where kids get a game card with clues and an empty black plastic  pot-o'-gold.  Kids search through the town for leprechauns, marking their game card, and putting a chocolate coin in their pot every time they find one.  Once they've found all thirteen leprechauns, the kids return to the NBA booth and collect a shiny golden U.S. Dollar coin as their prize.

For Our Sponsoring Businesses

The thirteen sponsoring businesses receive a spot in the game card and an afternoon of traffic through their location.  These participating businesses are encouraged to make the most of this opportunity by offering a coupon, a special, or some other reason to get these families to return and become customers.  Obviously, this event is best for businesses who want a crowd of parents and excited kids and in their store all day.  Put away the breakables, or station your leprechaun out front if you prefer to be an "outside" location.

Sponsors each contribute $50 which helps cover the cost of the pots, the chocolate coins, and the silver dollar coin prizes.  We recommend that your costumed leprechaun be an employee, friend, or family member who doesn't have to split their time between the kids and "minding the store".  Things get pretty busy at the height of these hunts, and the hunters will keep you hopping!

Plan your costume in advance and decide where and how you want to greet your Leprechaun hunters and their parents.  When the child presents his game card, mark off your location and give them a chocolate coin for their pot-o'-gold.  And most of all- have fun!
